Excerpts from a letter from my parents, dated 29th August 2011.
Written by Dad, unless otherwise stated.

“Dream Report: Dreamed about taking Mum’s sewing machines (she has two now!) to the dealership for repair. They are both broken. Seems like a waste of a dream to me.”
“Winter Fuel Report: Coal and wood are stocked up for the winter. We even have a smart new coal bunker to brighten up our lives. Mum keeps threatening to put some wood on the fire and actually light it! Over my dead body!”
“According to Jenny Murray, today is the centenary of the ‘Women Pilots Association’. Women are encouraged to ‘get airborne’ apparently. Good luck with that one. It sounds like encouragement to take drugs to me!”
“Burglar Alarm Report: The alarm went apeshit when we got back from Southwold so we got it sorted. A guy who looks exactly like Buzz Lightyear serviced it and fitted cat-proof motion sensors. There’s a box on the wall now with sinister red lights that flash alternately, giving any passing pond life a very clear message. (Buzz left without telling us what the message was unfortunately.)”
“Mum: ‘To infinity and beyond!’”
